T-Square Design Associates

築40年程度の古い邸宅のリノベーションである。大屋根の下で2世帯が暮らすという竣工当時の価値観に沿った暮らし方から、一緒には暮らすけど、適度な距離感が必要という現代の暮らし方へ価値観が移行している中で引き継がれた住宅を、もう一度復活させるべく、外観は先代の意向を尊重する形で、基本的にそのまま残し、内部空間を完全スケルトンにし、空間の再構築を図っている。その為、元の建物は3分割され、それぞれを複数の家族単位に沿って、３つのヴィラに分け、それらを1つの集住体とした。その際、過去のボキャブラリーを現代のボキャブラリーに置き換えながら計画したのだが、重要なのは、その時代背景を反映した価値観であり、それこそがボキャブラリーの根底にあると改めて考えさせられたプロジェクトであった。

It is a renovation of an old mansion. In order to revive the house that was inherited while the values were shifting from the way of living at the time of completion, in which two households lived under a large roof, to the modern way of living, where people live together but need an appropriate sense of distance, the exterior is basically left as it is, and the interior space is completely skeletonized, and the space is reconstructed. Therefore, the original building was divided into three parts, each divided into three villas along multiple family units, and they became one settlement. At that time, I planned while replacing the vocabulary of the past with the vocabulary of the present, but what is important is the values that reflect the background of the times, and it was a project that made me think again that this is the basis of vocabulary.
