神戸市内の阪神間屈指の学生街、岡本でのテナントビル計画である。テナントビルの場合、依頼される内容の多くが建築のみの設計で、内装はテナント自身がされるケースとなり、今回もその例外ではなかった。2階建ての1フロア1室という小規模なテナントビルということと、正面以外は全て建物に囲まれており、建物の正面のみで建築的表現が可能な場所で、オーナーから出された依頼条件は「岡本らしいビル」ということである。そこで、岡本らしさとは何かということを街を歩きながらスタディーしていった結果、建築形態以上に素材の使い方に岡本らしさがあるのではないかと結論付けた。そこで、「岡本らしい」素材を全面的に使用した壁面を大きな壁画のように見せ、それが商店街の新しいシンボルとなるように試みたのが、このビルである。

This is a tenant building in Okamoto, one of the leading student towns in the Hanshin area of ​​Kobe city. In the case of tenant buildings, the majority of requests are for the design of the building only, with the tenants themselves doing the interior design, and this project was no exception. It is a small-scale tenant building with one room per floor on two floors, and is surrounded by buildings on all sides except the front, so the location allows for architectural expression only from the front of the building. The owner's request condition was that the building be "reminiscent of Okamoto". After walking around the town to study what it means to be Okamoto-like, we came to the conclusion that the essence of Okamoto lies in the use of materials rather than the architectural form. This building was created with the aim of making the walls entirely made of "Okamoto-like" materials look like a large mural, and becoming a new symbol of the shopping district.
