This is a two-story wooden house for two families located in Tsuruga City, Fukui Prefecture. The family consists of six people: a married couple, their son and his wife, and two children. The family is already deeply connected to the local people because the house is being rebuilt in an area where the family has lived for many years and is familiar with the area. Due to the unique nature of a two-family home, it is important to have a good balance of connection between the family members. The mountain that represents the area, Mt. Nosaka, is right in front of the house, and the connection between the view and the interior was to be revived. As a result of proceeding with the design while keeping this "connection" in mind, a courtyard connected to the entrance approach was placed in the center of the house, and daily life unfolds around this courtyard. Neighbors pass through the approach, enter the courtyard, and spend time together on the veranda, while the family members each go back and forth between the courtyard, set off fireworks, read books, and so on, connecting through the courtyard. The house has a panoramic view of the distant scenery from the second floor, and everything is "connected" to it.
