T-Square Design Associates

敷地は羽曳野市内の古くからある住宅街の一画に位置する。元々畑だった土地を農地転用し、3人家族のための木造住宅を計画した。敷地は南北に長い上、その南側には１ｍ上がった所に4階建てのアパートが、まるで壁の様にそそり建ち、計画地への自然光をブロックしている。そんな計画地を初めて訪れた際、東側に建つ４棟の古い建売住宅が畑越しに目に飛び込んできた。これらの住宅群は、あまりに周辺の街並みのスケール感に馴染んでおり、もはや風景の一部と化し、何とも象徴的だった。そこで、計画建物も４つに分割し、そのヴォリュームを建売住宅群に合わせる事で、風景の再構築を図った。この４つのヴォリュームはアパートからの視線を遮りつつ、それにより生まれた新たな余白は自然光を室内へ届けるための仕掛けとなっている。

The site is located in a section of an old residential area in Habikino City. The land was originally a field, and was converted to farmland, and a wooden house for a family of three was planned. The site is long from north to south, and on the south side, a four-story apartment building stands like a wall, one meter above the ground, blocking natural light into the planned site. When I first visited the planned site, four old prefabricated houses on the east side caught my eye across the field. These houses blended in so well with the scale of the surrounding streets that they had become part of the landscape, and were quite symbolic. Therefore, the planned building was divided into four, and the volumes were adjusted to match the prefabricated houses, in an attempt to reconstruct the landscape. These four volumes block the view from the apartment, while the new space created by this serves as a mechanism for bringing natural light into the rooms.
